Q and A

What will happen to my waste drums?

The plastic from your waste drums will be processed and recycled. That’s why it has to be free of any contamination. If it is contaminated in any way the batch will be rejected and it won’t make financial sense for us to continue collecting drums for free from your site.

It all sounds a bit of an effort, is it worth the bother just to save a few pounds on our disposal costs?

Oak Van

It should take hardly more effort than it would to ensure your legal compliance for disposing of waste by other means. Either that or your waste costs may be more significant than you think and don’t forget that there’s every sign that disposal costs will continue to rise. You will also be ‘doing the right thing’ by ensuring your drums are recycled and not buried in a landfill somewhere. This is an opportunity to save money and save the planet!

Recycling plastic:

  • Reduces the volume of waste going into landfill

  • Reduces the amount of oil used for plastic production

  • Reduces the amount of energy consumed

What do I have to do?

Drums

  • Just ensure your drums are clean (see Drum collection criteria).

  • Make sure your drums are made from HDPE ( look for a triangle with a 2 in the middle).

  • Check the amount. Over 500 kilos we collect, otherwise you can deliver to us or arrange a collection round dependant on your location.

  • Phone, email or fill in the online form.
